NOTE: NEXT ZOOM CALL WILL BE JANUARY 25TH, TUESDAY AT 9:30am
GFWC MN TEAM LEADERSHIP TUESDAY zoom January, 2022 Notes
Held: January 11th, 2nd Tuesday of Month @10:00am
SUBJECT: Teen Dating Violence Prevention Club Updates, Reporting Revisited, Communications
AGENDA
1. Communications. Discussed communicating more often via zoom and if the time and/or day should be changed. Consensus was to continue with Tuesdays BUT CHANGE THE TIME TO 9:30am. Jennell suggested having a few more Tuesday zoom calls beginning with a second January zoom call on Tuesday, January 25, 9:30am. A tutorial will be held on Communication via GFWC membership portal where valuable information can be found. DISTRICT PRESIDENTS were urged to reach out to their clubs to invite them to this tutorial on the GFWC Membership Portal and to update their club contacts and forward info to Jennell and Yvonne. A zoom invite will be sent later in the month.
2. Reporting revisited. Reviewed reporting forms and how to best utilize these for club and members…JENNELL’S 101 Things to Do and the volunteer hours spread sheet developed by Diane H. These will be resent immediately following the zoom call. DISTRICT PRESIDENTS OR THEIR DISTRICT CONTACT PERSONS were urged to contact EACH of their clubs and gather a report whether a statistic or a few lines on a club activity and send that info to Diane H. This would ensure that JENNELL’S goal of 100% of clubs reporting is met. This also ensures that the district presidents are in contact with their clubs which is a vital role as district president.
3. Teen Dating Violence Prevention. Members shared info on their club activities for Teen Dating Violence Prevention. Clubs are or have been creating many opportunities from hosting forums, education through club programs, providing outreach to schools to assist in distribution of information to educating members on the hand signal for help.
NEXT ZOOM CALL WILL BE JANUARY 25TH, TUESDAY AT 9:30am

Here is a serious need! Face Masks!!
Here’s a thought!
There’s a need to make face masks … and groups perhaps in your area already heading up this project…(ie. 4H clubs). join them in this project. If not be there for your community and get it going. Contact your healthcare systems, nursing homes and businesses that are essential to staying open (grocery stores).. and ask what their needs are.
While the face mask offers only some safety it helps a bit.

Yvonne’s Scoop #4
Happy Spring GFWC MN Leaders,
Our district meetings are fast approaching. It’s an opportunity to celebrate, get together with Federation sisters, and listen to what your members have been doing and where are they going as clubs.
The last issue of LEADERSHIP SCOOP suggested the districts implement a 10 minute Mini LEADS Q. and A. session to gather information on what’s clubs are doing towards GFWC President Brock’s Seven Grand Initiatives (See below). You have forwarded your MLK Day activities and they have been forwarded to the GFWC Blog. Some have forwarded your Legislative Alert progress… continue signing up for this important alert. And many are working toward the other initiatives. What is your progress? What are your PLANS for the coming months/year?
You also have been asked to discuss redistricting. What are your concerns? What other suggestions do your members have? What excites you the most as you review the proposal?

Yvonne’s Scoop #3
I look forward to your report on the progress of clubs on these Seven Grand Initiatives and I will forward this info to GFWC. If you need any handouts or have questions on this MINI LEADS Session please call or email. |
